    TLDR

Jake Z posted that Google began allowing hotel bookings inside AI Mode in August. The listed companies are Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, Wyndham and IHG. He wrote that each name reached the feature through a signed agreement rather than organic search integration. The post frames the development as a business outcome for agent-driven reservations instead of broad AI search adoption in travel. A static line chart titled SHARE OF AI ASSISTANT WEB TRAFFIC accompanied the message. Connor Shorten retweeted the thread.

@AIDailyGuyIn August, Google started letting people book hotels inside AI Mode. http://Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, Wyndham, IHG. Everyone read it as AI search coming for travel. The more interesting detail is the guest list. Every name on it got there by signing something. Agent-completed booking is a BD outcome right now. You're in because you were big enough to be in the room. Except the traffic keeps moving. ChatGPT was ~76% of assistant traffic in mid-2025. It's ~53% now. Gemini went from under 9% to 27%. Claude 2% to 9%. One deal per assistant, renegotiated every time the share shifts. And if you run a dental practice, there's no room to be in.
