Cerebras is hiring hundreds of engineers

Feldman argues that companies laying off engineers because of AI are “short on imagination,” framing the technology as a way to build more rather than cut staff.

    TLDR

Cerebras is hiring hundreds of engineers, Andrew Feldman said on September 14. He argues that AI is making engineers vastly more productive and expanding what Cerebras can build. Rather than using AI to justify layoffs, he says, companies should pursue more ambitious work; Cerebras has a long list of things it wants to build and problems it hopes to solve.

@andrewdfeldmanIf you are laying off engineers because of AI. Your company is in trouble. Engineers are becoming vastly more productive. A company firing engineers tells me - they are short on imagination. They can't see how to take advantage of the biggest productivity jump engineering has ever had. At @cerebras, we have a very long list of things we want to build, ideas we want to pursue, and problems we think we can solve. AI is expanding what we can build and the problems we can attack. At @cerebras, we're hiring engineers. Hundreds of them. We are looking for fearless problem solvers. People who would rather fail at chasing the extraordinary than succeed at the ordinary. If that sounds like you, come join us.

@BerkeleyRDIThere will be no AI job apocalypse. @AndrewYNg: the job most affected by AI is software engineering, and that market is healthy. "We just can't find enough skilled AI engineers." Does AI eliminate jobs, or does it reshape which skills the market values most? Drop your take below. 👇
