CEO Gagan Biyani announced the school for high school graduates on September 22, 2026, saying applications were open for its tuition-free, one-year Founding Class Fellowship. He said the academy raised $42 million in funding led by a16z. Learning will center on students’ own projects, alongside classes and guest lectures. Biyani named 10 founding partners, including Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and Stripe, and described a network of more than 50 hiring partners and more than 200 speakers and mentors. The school eventually plans a two-year program with tuition similar to an elite private university’s, pending regulatory approval.
