    TLDR

    Theo posted that the /config command edits only the current project config for Claude, not the global one, and called the missing UI indicator annoying. He linked a ClaudeDevs status. Danielle Fong replied to the same status with a request for thought traces. One generated summary in the packet states that Anthropic introduced the concise output style for Claude Code to prioritize results and shorter responses, enabled via the config menu or by setting outputStyle to concise.

    @ClaudeDevsYou can now set Claude Code's output style to Concise. Claude leads with the result, keeps responses short, and still gives full detail when you ask. Turn it on in /config → Output style, or set "outputStyle": "Concise" in settings.json.
    @theoHeads up: the /config command only edits the claude config for THE CURRENT PROJECT, NOT your global config. The UI really should indicate this, super annoying.
    @DanielleFongi need thought traces 😭

    @kimmonismusLong overdue. Opus 5 is too verbose. At least it looks like Anthropic starts to listen.
    @emm0shfyi
    @benhylaki can wager a guess as to why this isn't the default
    @charlieholtzLive in Conductor! Settings → Default models → Concise
