AI storytelling is in its early-cinema phase, Every says, citing Eliot Peper
Every describes the Tolan head of story’s comparison between today’s AI stories and early cinema’s “animated photographs”—and asks what an AI equivalent of a blockbuster might look like.
TLDR
Every says Eliot Peper, head of story at Tolan, compares today’s AI storytelling to early cinema, when cameras recorded stage plays and everyday scenes. Every describes how filmmakers went on to develop close-ups and special effects, while characterizing today’s AI storytelling as mostly bringing photos and characters to life. It leaves an open question: What will the AI equivalent of a blockbuster look like?
