OpenAI's Astra reportedly takes 13% of enterprise AI spend, versus Fable's 8%

A September 15 post citing Ramp data puts Astra ahead of Fable. Its author argues OpenAI's growth suggests it still has some pricing power thanks to a competitive frontier model.

    TLDR

Citing Ramp data, a September 15, 2026 post says Astra accounted for 13% of enterprise AI spend that week, compared with Fable's 8%. The author attributes OpenAI's growth primarily to shifts from Sol and some Anthropic models, with net-new usage also contributing. They also argue that Anthropic's frontier model has fallen behind on adoption and that OpenAI's growth suggests some pricing power remains for a competitive frontier model.

@arakharazianOpenAI is winning enterprise spend at the frontier. As of this week, Astra takes 13% of enterprise AI spend vs. Fable (8%) per Ramp data. Some early thoughts: 1. Anthropic took a big risk in its recent call to pace the frontier. It's frontier model has already fallen behind on adoption. 2. OpenAI's growth is primarily coming from shifts from Sol and some Anthropic models, net-new usage too. That's good for them and suggests some pricing power remains by having a good, competitive frontier model.

@beffjezosI am really glad friends at OpenAI locked in and flippened the Darioverse. I felt like a Claude Code prisoner for 9 months
@rohanpaul_aiwild how quickly enterprise spend moved once OpenAI had a strong frontier model in market. OpenAI reached roughly 13% of enterprise AI spend versus Anthropic at about 8%. also shows enterprise model loyalty is fairly weak. If another provider closes the quality gap, devs and companies can move workloads much faster than traditional enterprise software markets would suggest.
