KroWork AI Agent Builds Local News Dashboard from Prompt in Minutes
1/ I finally tried building my own tool with KroWork to see if this "Chat-to-software" thing is as easy as they say.
I asked the agent, Kro, for a news dashboard, and updating to the latest version lets you see the full KroWork thought process mapping out the system logic. It uses the Kro Browser Bridge Chrome extension to hook directly into the browser for live automation.
The entire app generation was done in like five minutes. No code, just a prompt. Plus, because it actually compiles into real local software, running it repeatedly doesn't consume any tokens.
2/ The app solidification is what I actually cared about though. I installed the Kro App to my launchpad and it natively handles the features I just added.
It now auto-categorizes all incoming feeds into Tech, Finance, Policy, and Market tabs, and even compiles the daily summary into a formatted PDF report with a single click.
Look at this:

4/ The main reason I keep this running is that it is local-first. Everything runs on my own device, so there is no cloud dependency or data leakage risk.
For anyone non-technical who wants to automate tasks without learning how to use a Terminal, it completely scales your token consumption.
You basically Kro once, and run it forever as software you actually own.

3/ Having an AI agent build functional tools with zero coding required completely changes how repetitive work gets done. It pulls multi-source feeds, strips out layout clutter, and refreshes instantly, saving me from manually opening and jumping between 15 different browser tabs every single morning just to catch up. You just open it whenever you need it as a regular local app instead of a link buried in a chat history.
