Announcement
Perplexity open-sources SPACE, its code-execution sandbox platform
Perplexity's README says SPACE uses isolated Firecracker microVMs and an HTTP API to run commands and collect output.
TLDR
The author of the open-source announcement says they run thousands of sandboxes on SPACE daily. Perplexity's GitHub README says each sandbox has its own VM and writable filesystem; applications can use an HTTP API to create Linux environments, execute commands, collect output and manage sandbox lifecycles. The repository lists an Apache 2.0 license.
