    @S_OhEigeartaighAsimov's laws were a narrative tool. The stories are almost all examples of these laws running into conundrums, or creating ethical dilemmas, or failing in some other way. Asimov was illustrating an important point: simple, well-meaning, intuitive rules don't map well onto the complexity and messiness of the real world. Most of those who invoke them seem to miss that point. Claude's current soul is about 80 pages long.
