ChatGPT starts rolling out Locked Chats
ChatGPT says locked chats leave regular history and search; new messages won't update memory used in regular chats.

ChatGPT announced Locked Chats on October 20, 2026, saying users can move conversations into a protected space outside regular history and search. Chats unlock with a PIN on web and desktop; supported mobile devices can also use Face ID, Touch ID or device unlock. New messages in locked chats won't update memory used in regular chats.
