Submitted the resume. I don’t have a formal PM title, but I do have experience initiating projects and bridging teams together around business and revenue goals. At the end, it worked out pretty well, things flowed better, and we all got bonuses.
It is very important to define and work towards the right goal if you know what the right goal is. A lot of the busy work does not work; you need to think from first principles and be real rather than follow the textbook or use legacy frameworks someone else defined.
Based on the job description and my comment, my @codex replied PM job done well means:
- Define the real target: not “more usage” only, but “can users finish more meaningful tasks with less friction, less supervision, and more trust?”
- Measure useful depth: task completion rate, accepted diffs, time-to-merge, rollback/rework rate, number of human interventions, ability to handle ambiguous multi-step work.
- Build feedback loops: internal dogfooding, power-user interviews, trace review, failed-task analysis, eval sets from real work.
- Translate between users, engineers, and model researchers: e.g. “model failed because context was missing,” “tool UX caused bad action,” “planning loop is too shallow,” “permission model blocks flow.”
- Kill busywork: if a metric or process doesn’t move the product toward deeper task completion, challenge it.
