Eight U.S. Marines evade DARPA AI sensor array in desert trials
Eight U.S. Marines evaded a DARPA-developed AI sensor array during desert field trials by using low-tech tactics outside its training data. The system, trained solely on normal walking footage, failed to detect them over 300 meters as they somersaulted, hid under cardboard boxes, and disguised themselves as trees. All movement and camouflage methods succeeded in open desert terrain.
