Google's Gemini app uses adaptive native design systems from Android and iOS, blending Material You elements with Liquid Glass components while retaining its distinct visual identity across platforms

Implementation enables platform-specific interfaces without separate codebases.

I think Google did an incredible job with the new Gemini app

They use and adaptive native design systems from both Android (Material You) and iOS (Liquid Glass), and it still feels unique with Google's overarching design.

They've now done the best job of any app I've seen

@mweinbach I wish they incorporated more of the theming from Material You. this gradient behind the message box is a perfect candidate! and I also don't like how I can't swipe to open the chat drawer. but other than that I do really like it, it feels premium!

@mweinbach It looks okay. But Gemini 3.5 Flash is utterly unusable. I cringe whenever getting a response. 😬 It feels you are talking about some other model, Max.

@mweinbach The mobile app is amazing. The desktop website is very questionable. Looks a bit cheap imo.

@mweinbach Agree. The impressive part is not just that it looks good

It respects the platform, but still feels like the same product. That balance is surprisingly rare

@AdamMichailow @mweinbach People keep looking at numbers and talk out of their asses about the model RESULTS. "Oh 1400 tokens per minute! OMG!" Who cares if the output is trash?
