Cerebras completed its IPO on the Nasdaq under ticker CBRS. Shares opened at $350, delivering a valuation above $100 billion and marking the largest US tech IPO since Uber. Executives and employees held a bell-ringing ceremony at Nasdaq in New York, while groups gathered in Times Square in front of screens displaying the CBRS ticker and holding an illuminated silicon wafer. The listing follows NVIDIA’s $20 billion acquisition of rival Groq.

Many users celebrated Cerebras' Nasdaq IPO and wafer-scale AI chips for the company's milestone achievement and technical breakthroughs, while others worried about the stock price drop and potential scalability issues.

I’m so fucking proud of this team.
They took an extraordinarily difficult technical swing with wafer-scale and connected on the first try.
Then they spent years grinding through packaging, cooling, compilers, frameworks, early customers, and everything else required to turn a technical breakthrough into a real company — swinging and missing and learning and trying again.
Most importantly, they stayed clear-eyed about what they had (a technical marvel) and what they didn’t (enough advantage in training), saw the opportunity emerging in inference, and adapted.
That kind of persistence — not to be confused with stubbornness — is incredibly hard to describe, but absolutely essential in the unstable substrate of AI.
The requirements of AI today will not be the requirements of AI tomorrow. But this team will keep figuring it out.
And I’m here for it.
Cerebras just had the biggest IPO of the year.
Founder @andrewdfeldman says the 3 most important things he had to convince investors of while doing the roadshow were that demand for inference is going to 1,000,000x, the GPU isn't the only way to do compute, and that the CUDA moat is overstated.
What he said:
"Jensen said some time ago on @altcap's podcast that the demand for inference will grow by a 1,000,000x, and nobody believed him. And at the same time, you saw Sam Altman displaying real vision and going out and trying to lock up huge amounts of compute, memory, data centers, and power, because he saw it too."
"[We tried] to share what that means — what exponential demand means. And that we're still so early, and yet the demand for AI compute is overwhelming."
"The other thing is that there are lots of ways to do this. The GPU isn't the only way. You've got TPUs, Trainium, and us. There are lots of different ways to build a solution here."
"And finally — the notion that CUDA is this grand lock-in is overplayed. Gemini 3, which is an excellent model, was trained on TPUs with no CUDA. The Anthropic models were trained on Trainium with no CUDA. Some of the best models, some of the most interesting things are being done without CUDA. And that lock-in might be overplayed."

I joined Cerebras last than two years ago. And yesteryday, we IPOd.
It took 3 days from when I first heard about Cerebras to when I started on my first day. I had many job offers, and would have never imagined that I would pick a hardware company. But when you try an inference demo on a Cerebras chip (WSE-3), playing with an early llama model, it's hard not to have a holy sh*t moment.
It's been incredible starting and building the developer experience team, introducing a new category of products, experiences, and research that were never possible before.
We are only getting started.

didn’t believe @ml_hardware for a while on @cerebras. he was totally right. admire a lot about the co: the team slaps -- they do controversial things for the right reasons. persistence. execution. they built a banger chip. grateful to be an investor. Also - 1st IPO for Hanabi ;).
