Florida woman reportedly arrested after Anthropic shared threatening Claude chat with police

Tom’s Hardware reports that Anthropic’s human reviewers sent police a Claude chat threatening a Florida sheriff’s office, after which deputies arrested a woman. A post sharing the report says, citing the arrest report, that automated systems watch for threatening content and severe statements go to human reviewers. It also notes that Anthropic’s privacy policy permits disclosure to police when the company believes in good faith it is reasonably necessary to prevent serious harm.
