Carnegie Mellon researchers present Pixel robot and Pixel-UMI training pipeline
The wheeled robot pairs with a wearable system that turns human demonstrations into whole-body training targets.
TLDR
Pixel combines a wheeled robot with controls and a learning system designed for human and robot demonstrations. Its companion pipeline, Pixel-UMI, uses recorded human movement and scene depth to generate robot training targets. The researchers report 87.0% average task progress across five evaluation tasks, a measure of progress rather than success. Some harder tasks also used corrections collected during robot runs.
