    TLDR

Taylor Lorenz posted on X that she wrote about the anthropomorphizing AI discourse. Her message presents an article exploring how society refers to and anthropomorphizes AI systems. A second post states that not all anthropomorphizing of AI is bad. Lorenz addresses Dwarkesh and other writers covering AI. She notes that the way stories are written will directly shape public opinion of new technology and will affect policy. She adds that writers should be explicit about their goals if they have them. The posts include links to related images and content. These details appear in the public tweets from her account.

@TaylorLorenzI wrote about the anthropomorphizing AI discourse
@ZackKorman“Maybe some of those normies will come away rightfully terrified about AI going off the rails (many in the AI safety world would probably argue that they should). But if that’s the intended purpose then it should be made explicit.” This is great. A lot of people are saying “this is good because it communicates how terrifying this is” and it’s like… okay but maybe disclose that’s the intended purpose.
