Scary how this is NOT obvious to everyone. For every new technology, there is a generation of uneducated people spreading misinformation, fear, and hate. May the world have fewer of them, and more like Jensen.
$NVDA NVIDIA'S JENSEN HUANG GIVES AN UPDATE ON KIMI K3 AND CHINA'S OPEN SOURCE MODELS: "American companies should absolutely be allowed to use Chinese AI models. There's a misconception that somehow there are backdoors connected to China in someway. You download the models, fine tune them, guardrail them in any way you want." "These Chinese opensource models are excellent. The market has misunderstood the impact of DeepSeek the first time. It's misunderstood the impact of Kimi this time. Open models are great for the whole industry, there will be more usage which will require selling more Nvidia computers and building more datacenters." "Great models lead to more usage. There is also a misunderstanding that open models are going to hurt the closed models, that is also wrong."
"The market misunderstood the impact of DeepSeek the first time," he told Axios, adding that Wall Street has "misunderstood the impact of Kimi again this time." "His argument is simple: Cheaper, open models will bring AI to more people and businesses, increasing demand for the chips, data centers and computing power Nvidia sells." "Free AI should be great for hardware," Huang said. "Free AI should be great for chips. Free AI should be great for data centers." "He rejected the "misconception" that downloaded Chinese models create a "backdoor" to Beijing, arguing that companies can customize them and control their access inside secure "sandboxes." "If everything just becomes one single model, one single point of attack, one single source of failure, I think the world is much, much more vulnerable," he said.
Nvidia $NVDA CEO Jensen Huang said the 🇺🇸 Government should NOT ban or restrict China 🇨🇳 AI models like Kimi K3 in an interview he did with Axios … here’s more quotes "These Chinese models are excellent" … "Open-source models that are excellent should be used." "The market misunderstood the impact of DeepSeek the first time," and its misunderstanding “the impact of Kimi again this time." "There's no scenario where China runs U.S. companies off the road" … "Zero possibility." https://x.com/axios/status/2079853973893439709/video/1
