Anthropic: ALL YOUR JOBS AND HOBBIES ARE BELONG TO US. BOW DOWN TO ALMIGHTY CLAUDE AND US IN THE PRIESTLY CLASS

Next thing you know: "Why are people looking to confiscate half our company 😩😭"

@edzitron This thing is blurring stuff together in a way that's pretty inaccurate. I just tell people who start at the company to get hobbies that don't involve computers because I think people who work in tech shouldn't spend all their time doing tech stuff. Touch grass, basically.

@_arohan_ I mean, getting hobbies outside computers would be an advice I'd give to anyone at any point in time though

@verdakorz @edzitron I would also include touching boats as a legitimate hobby and I will consider recommending this to colleagues

@jackclarkSF @edzitron Indeed, I have felt very supported in my pizza making endeavors and empowered to do so sans the help of a computer.

@matvelloso Yeah for sure. I guess this is indeed good advice not silly.

@_arohan_ But that's what Jack and Dario have been saying since ... forever? (I also think it's not a particularly productive conversation, but really it's very par for the course)

@_arohan_ People still play go and chess... I'll still be enjoying my computer hobbies even when it's "pointless". It might even be more fun when it's absolutely out of the question that it's commercially valuable 😂

@beffjezos They also want to activate an AI pause at the same time. Why now though and not 2-3 years ago.

Looks very suspicious from them doesn’t it?

@jackclarkSF @edzitron I think people should choose hobbies based on what they like and enjoy doing, and this should be the only measure.
