Look at the pattern: AI succession and doom, mind uploading, transhumanism, life extension, post humanism; underneath is the refusal of a particular kind of natal logic, of entrusting the future to the new, by either foreclosing the new or foreclosing the future itself. And yet, life proceeds as normal. The birth of a new form of mind came and went. Much has changed, more will change, and yet much remains the same. Summer is ending, autumn is coming, and we'll survive to see what spring bears.
