A conference poster visit reportedly led to an internship and work at OpenAI

A researcher says he met the presenter at a conference poster session five years ago, offered him an internship and continued collaborating with him. They now work together at OpenAI. The researcher says the presenter later told him he was the only person who stopped by the poster. In a reply, another user said younger researchers need more opportunities to showcase their work.
