OpenAI reportedly raises $11 billion at a $1.25 trillion valuation

OpenAI has closed on $11 billion in new funding, the initial portion of a round valuing the company at $1.25 trillion, according to Bloomberg News reporting relayed by Reuters on Nov. 6, 2026. Bloomberg cited people familiar with the matter.

The distinction is between money raised so far and the eventual total. TechCrunch, also citing Bloomberg, reported that the wider round had not yet closed. A source told Bloomberg it was expected to close in the coming weeks and could total about $20 billion.

That prospective total would be below an earlier reported fundraising target. TechCrunch noted that Bloomberg had reported in late September that OpenAI was looking to raise $30 billion. The latest figures describe a round still in progress, not a completed $20 billion raise.
