OpenAI's Will Depue says in an X post that the Codex mobile app is useful but plagued by lag, broken file links, slow side-chat loading, typing issues and heavy battery drain. A reply from @yacineMTB suggested skipping the app and using tmux instead. So far, the public record is limited to those posts on X, so the safest read is the narrow one: an attributed complaint, a workaround suggestion and no broader confirmation yet.

the codex mobile app is so useful but gosh it’s so slow and broken at times and laggy. i can’t click on file links, side chat opening is so slow and typing seemed broken for a bit, it burns my battery. plz more testing guys

@willdepue yeh its really bad, the sync is also very slow. often it looks like its frozen then I close it and open it and its actually done. its patchy, hardly functional as an alternative
