    TLDR

Gary Marcus credits @DKokotajlo with the point that AI evaluation can use more than one independent evaluator, and argues that it should. He says a mix could balance expertise in human failures, cybersecurity and model capabilities, along with different ideologies and perspectives. He compares the approach to grant panels that bring together scholars with different specialties.

@GaryMarcus@DKokotajlo makes an obvious point that gets made too rarely: you can have more than one independent AI evaluator. And you should, to balance technical expertise (e.g., human failures vs cybersecurity vs model capabilities), ideology, perspective, etc. (Every grant panel I was ever on realized the values of having scholars with different expertise. So many things industrial AI can lean from real science.)2h
