Runway turns eight with video AI now central to its work

Looking back on Runway's eighth anniversary, a member of its founding team said the company looks nothing like it did in 2018. He recalled that the team hadn't anticipated focusing on video, pretraining video models at scale or pursuing world models. He credited the company's progress to betting on people and urged colleagues to speak up when they know they're right.
