    TLDR

The Allen Institute for AI posted that it collaborated with the E3SM team to create SamudrACE-E3SMv3. Machine learning emulators already reproduce climate processes faster than conventional models. The new system couples an atmosphere emulator with an ocean emulator so each receives predictions from the other while the simulation advances. Ai2 described the work in a thread that included a diagram of the coupled setup. The post presents the result as a completed system ready for further climate modeling tasks.

@allen_aiML emulators mimic climate processes faster than traditional models. Next is coupling atmosphere & ocean emulators so their predictions feed into each other as the simulation runs. With the E3SM team, we built a system that does that: SamudrACE-E3SMv3. 🧵 https://e3sm.org/a-fully-coupled-ai-emulator-of-e3smv3-reproduces-its-statistics/
