In Development and Asterisk announce $10,000 essay contest on AI in developing countries

The contest seeks 2,000- to 5,000-word essays on how transformative AI could affect low- and middle-income countries. The winner receives $10,000 and publication in Asterisk and In Development. A separate $2,500 award for an African national can be combined with other prizes. Entries are due Dec. 31, 2026. AI research and translation are allowed, but submissions cannot include AI-generated content beyond translation.
