    Decisions API opens to all developers in public beta

    OpenAI has released the Decisions API to all developers in public beta, pitching it as a way for applications to choose a model, tool or action in near real time. The company says the API is powered by GPT-6 Luna and accepts text and image inputs.

    The API supports three output types. Predicates estimate the probability that a statement is true, choices select from predefined options with confidence scores, and scores evaluate an input against a numeric range.

    OpenAI says developers have used the API to route requests among models, tools and agents; label, rank and score scaled inputs; analyze images and video frames; navigate interfaces from screenshots; flag risky tool calls; and categorize large datasets. The company claims it makes decisions up to 10x faster than calling GPT-6 Luna through the Responses API.

We had to go back to every team and ask: what would you build with frontier intelligence at the cost of a tiny, tuned classifier? It was near-perfect at filtering low-quality pages and hit 88.8% AUPRC on page change classification. Prompt tuning helped push even more performance out of the model Excited to continue building!1h
