If you had to lock into one product ecosystem right now for the next 5 years, who are you picking?
You have to use maximally their hardware, software, login, AI, everything. You can fill holes with generics but you can't have anything top-tier unless it's your megacorp.

I hate windows so Microsoft is out. Really miserable considering Apple and Linux.
I recently upgraded to a Mac for the first time in my life and it is very nice. Apple hardware is pretty good but the software is kind of annoying. They've done great at extracting and defending their moat but there is no real ecosystem growth.
I use Google Login for everything and pixel phones. They're lagging but I think Google is the most well rounded and best capitalized going forward. Really difficult to commit to someone else without accepting pretty steep limitations. Google is setup well here and hasn't been afraid of expanding the ecosystem even if rollouts are lacking vs the best in class. Maybe you give up peak in specific sub categories but Google is the least annoying across every ecosystem sub category.
@reed_barnes everybody's like you have to use a Chromebook but I said you can use generic stuff so I'm not sure why we're not doing lenovos with Linux or whatever
@deepfates i would have no problem answering Apple if AI wasn’t included. would take Google if I had to but for the same. if microsoft was the only option i would simply go off-grid until 2031
@deepfates I vaguely recall one recently like “I lost access to all my family photos and my SaaS business because Google incorrectly flagged some synced photo of my kid as CSAM and support won’t respond”

Google also at least has AI models rather than whatever Apple Intelligence is
