A 2025 AI film shows why storytelling beats technique, one viewer argues

The viewer describes the film as starting like an amateur, analog-style documentary of a boy’s summer in Corsica before revealing a journey through his magical memories.

    TLDR

One viewer praises an AI film they describe as award-winning, saying it was made in 2025 with video models they consider “completely obsolete.” For them, its lasting appeal shows that originality, taste and storytelling matter far more than technique and performance. They argue that the technical priority should be giving creators control over the image, the story and what they want to express.

@lionel_moraThis award-winning AI film is still blowing my mind. And it was made in 2025 with video models that are completely obsolete. To me it says something very clear which is that originality, taste and storytelling matter infinitely more than technique and performance. It starts as an amateur, analog style documentary filmed by a young boy during his summer holidays in Corsica. As the film progresses, we realise that we are in fact going through his magical memories. It's about feelings. It's about style. It's about creating a sense of surprise. The only thing that matters technically, is the control creators can have over the image, over the story and over their ability to express what they have inside. Exceptional work by @leo_cannone
