OpenAI Codex draws attention from social media accounts
OpenAI Codex gained notice from AI-focused social media accounts for what users described as a major update to the code generation model. Co-founder Kim Isenberg of the Superintelligence AI newsletter posted on Thursday that the model had replaced Claude for coding tasks. Separate accounts highlighted a huge Codex update with expanded developer capabilities, though no specific changes or release timing were detailed.
Users are excited about OpenAI Codex as faster and more natural than Claude for shipping code after switching, though a few dismiss the hype as fleeting.

@kimmonismus Thursday Codex update watch has become a real thing now 😭⚡
Crazy how fast the vibe shifted from “Claude Code owns coding AI” to OpenAI dropping features every week and people quietly migrating over. (http://axios.com)

@kimmonismus mobile app support today yea?

@kimmonismus Will it change to Gemini soon? given the 'flash' model itself is going to be highly cheap in comparision to the reasiong it will provide.
I just hope they improve the Gemini CLI and also give better UI oriented platform (not Antigravity) for non techies.

@kimmonismus Until they fix how damn hungry it is, Claude will never be useful to me again

@kimmonismus Yeah, Codex/OpenAI took the lead and aren’t letting go. Let’s see what they cooked up for us today🍿

@kimmonismus the speed of model preference shifts lately is kind of insane. people switch “main AI” faster than browsers now.

@kimmonismus Same. Claude was my default for months but Codex feels faster for shipping entire features in one shot.

@kimmonismus Let’s go! Happy Codex Day!
