A fuller conception of the AI race would instead synthesize China’s practical obsession with diffusion, integration, and embodiment with our valid focus on raw capabilities.
Bridging the accelerating progress in the virtual world to the world of tangible, physical production remains the hardest step. Here, China retains an advantage, and one that could very well offset America’s leadership at the technological frontier in the fullness of time.
