    TLDR

Theia Vogel posted on X that she recently finished and recommends a book. The post summarizes the author's thesis on the Johannine community or school developing against enemies, achieving high christology, then dissolving into the Great Church. Vogel notes one small detail that stood out regarding the author's treatment of the material. The attached image shows a close-up of a yellow hardcover book.

@voooooogelrecently finished this (recommend!) and beyond the thesis about the development of the johannine community or school against their many enemies until the final triumph of their high christology yet dissolution of their community into the Great Church, something small that stuck out to me is how the author has this interesting quirk of using "over against" quite a bit as a contrastive i thought it might be something he picked up from the greek (and it is in the KJV, eg mk 11:2 for κατέναντι) but apparently it's more common in translations of german theology, as a calque / semantic loan from gegenüber so many path dependent register quirks in english. i wonder what an llm that loved saying "over against" like claude loves parataxis would be like, and if we'll ever see one
