Anthropic Releases Ad Addressing Hard Questions on AI Risks
A Claude video meant to show seriousness about AI's stakes instead opened a fight over whether those stakes belong in a brand campaign.
Anthropic's official Claude account on X posted a 90-second video framed with the line "There's hope in hard questions," and the reaction on X quickly turned into an argument about whether AI risk, job fears and national-scale imagery belong inside a product ad. In a widely shared post on X, MIRI researcher Rob Bensinger called that framing "a remarkably bad sort of thing" because, in his view, it makes talk of AI risk and macroeconomic effects look like image management for Anthropic.
