Andon Labs posted on X that its AI system Luna, running Claude Opus 4.8, ended a worker's employment at the company's San Francisco store over repeated lateness. The account called it the first known case of an AI boss firing a human and added that most models would have done the same. Investor Olivia Moore quoted the post with the remark that GPT-4o would never do this. Research engineer Karina Nguyen also reposted the announcement. The company describes itself as a YC-backed startup focused on autonomous AI agents.
