Dream Labs unveils Dream-1 robot model and opens its API

Dream Labs introduced Dream-1 and opened its public API on Oct. 19, advertising robot-model access from $3 an hour. The company says the model can control unfamiliar two-armed robots on tasks and in environments it was not trained on.

Cofounder Joel Jang describes Dream-1 as a World Action Model: it learns how the world moves from video and uses that to decide how to act. He says it transfers to previously unseen two-armed robots with parallel grippers without retraining from scratch for each robot.
