    TLDR

Peter Yang posted a reply outlining strong opinions on Codex. He argues that calling Codex a tool for developers creates confusion because the mode actually lets users interact with local files. Yang also wants to move multiple Codex threads into ChatGPT Work cloud tasks yet finds the transfer messy. All the cloud tasks appear together as one huge list that complicates organization and use. The reply comes from someone known for sharing practical AI tutorials and interviews.

@lennysanOpenAI's top 3 internal memes: 1. Is this maximally accelerated? 2. Are you mainlining it yet? 3. Are we being as ambitious as possible?
@petergyangI have a bunch of strong opinions about this: 1. I think saying Codex is for developers is confusing. It's really a mode for when you want to interact with your local files. 2. I want to move a bunch of Codex threads to ChatGPT Work cloud tasks but it's just really messy. All the cloud tasks show up as a huge list below my folders and projects. I have to pin them to find them. 3. Sometimes I'm in a cloud task and I realize I actually want it to look at something on my computer. There's no easy way to do this other than to start a new local task. 4. If the direction is a virtual cloud computer, just keep in mind that users who be hesitate to sign in / 2FA with cloud computers if the trust aspect is not clearly explained. 5. The whole Work branding is confusing. I get it that it's mostly branding for companies, but if I'm planning a vacation or asking ChatGPT what movies to watch, is that "work"? Anyway can't wait for this stuff to get merged. The UI is suboptimial right now.
