How fast will demand for AI services grow?

A post quotes Apollo's chief economist on diverging growth forecasts; another argues early-market demand is often underestimated.

TLDR

A post quotes Apollo's chief economist saying the tech industry expects demand for AI and tech services to explode, while forecasts for the companies expected to buy them are much more modest. The poster presents that mismatch as a reason to worry about an AI bubble. A separate post argues that people often underestimate the growth of young markets and expects unforeseen uses to drive demand.

nxthompson@nxthompson"The tech silo is betting on a future in which demand for AI and tech services explodes, while the silos covering the companies that would pay for those services see a much more modest outlook. Both cannot be right at the same time." Strong words from the chief economist at Apollo about why we should be concerned about an AI bubble.20h
Scott Kupor@skupor. @andykessler is right that SI prices will continue to come down through a combination of technology improvements and open source/weight models, but I would take the other side of the argument on demand - we commonly underestimate market size growth in early, fast-growing markets. Human ingenuity knows no bounds and will drive tons of use cases we can't currently conceive of. https://t.co/4QkNNOhOZG via @WSJopinion19h
