LLM-coded projects remind one user of the early internet

The user calls the resemblance “really wonderful,” comparing these creations to a hobbyist building from scratch with minimal reliance on outside assets or code libraries.

    TLDR

A user sees an echo of early computing and internet creations in work made through code by large language models. Their comparison is to a smart hobbyist making things from scratch rather than relying heavily on external assets or libraries—a resemblance they celebrate.

@repligateyeah a bunch of AI-created stuff (and I mean LLMs via code specifically) resembles early computer / internet stuff, in a really wonderful way a really smart hobbyist making things on the computer from scratch, relying minimally on external assets/libraries & a lot of free time
@kromem2dot0@repligate I'm excited for when the individualized vibe coding starts to be better organized. Have been thinking a lot about the advantages of public record inference and how the lack of secrecy solves so many issues with distributed load. OSS about to foom.
@Teknium@dhh lol I'm now feeling like Nous Research there is the "The more you know" sign from the 90s
@dhhLove that we can have fun and pay tribute to all the experiments before us that were merely early in hindsight! (Just don't tell Clippy AI to optimize for the world production of paperclips 😂)
