I am likewise baffled that someone with a P(doom) similar to me would say that it's "excellent news" that Fable is back.
I would like "the blip" to last a few *years*, minimum.

Later in this post, Zvi addresses my coverage of why I've called him out on Doom Debates, and says I had good points about him being captured. This^ at the top of the post is what I'm talking about.
Why is it a fiasco to un-release a frontier model? Bc you wanted to play with it??? Why shouldn't the industry that Zvi thinks has a 70% chance of killing us be treated with impunity? Why would you worry about any enforcement on them being unfair compared to other companies? It's like being upset that a murderer was put in jail when other murderers haven't been caught yet-- it indicates you don't really think they deserve to be regulated.
It's very obvious how taken Zvi is with Claude and with Anthropic. I think he is severely addicted to the feeling of using Claude, and his entire career is now about being close to what these companies do and serving an audience that feels some degree of the same thing. He's stuck in a reality distortion field. He's been glamoured by the threat itself.
