OpenAI integrates ChatGPT and Codex for shared workflows
OpenAI is integrating ChatGPT into Codex and vice versa. Shared state combines conversational context with code elements including repository state, terminal traces, tests, and diffs. Codex functions as a command center for multi-agent workflows on chatgpt.com, running agents in parallel for feature builds, refactors, migrations, documentation, issue triage, and CI/CD.

Conversation has intent, memory, and preferences. Codex has repo state, terminal traces, tests, diffs etc.
The magic is when execution traces become reusable conversational context, and conversation becomes executable task state.
