Anthropic Commits ~5% of Shares to Public Benefit Fund for AI Societal Impacts

Anthropic says its new, wholly owned Public Benefit Fund will start with 5% of company shares. It could add up to 2% for each 50% rise in company value above a baseline, subject to board discretion; Anthropic puts the total committed to public benefit at roughly 20%. Its co-founders pledged to donate 80% of their equity, and around half of employees are donating a portion through a matching program.
