OpenAI Sol decodes hidden message from visual noise in 40-minute test
A developer says OpenAI's Sol nearly read ghost-font text from a static grid after a long reasoning run, extending a recent round of noise-image tests on X.
In a post on X, developer fofrAI said OpenAI's Sol was asked to find hidden text in a static image made from a 5x5 grid of frames from a ghost-font video. According to the post, after about 40 minutes and "one nudge," the model produced "FOUR SAYS YO," close to the intended hidden message, "FOFR SAYS YO." The claim followed an earlier X post from goodside describing a different test with a 1024x1024 binary-noise image that contained no real message at all.
