Computer-use addiction and the struggle to step away

A user estimated in September 2026 that 98% of their days over the previous two decades involved 10-plus hours on or interacting with a computer. Calling their computer-use addiction “extreme,” they said they grew up with the internet and wished computers were less of a draw: “Now I'm watching the computers think and program themselves. How am I supposed to tear myself away?”
