wdym of course there’s an agent right on the design canvas that’s fluent in Figma and native to the way your team works
Figma introduced an AI agent embedded directly on its design canvas that understands native interfaces and team workflows to adjust layouts, apply design systems, and refine prototypes via chat prompts
A 61-second demo analyzes the Bookworm prototype on Cloudflare infrastructure.
Positive users celebrate Figma's new AI agent on the design canvas for understanding workflows and automating tasks, while negative users criticize high token costs, slowness, and question whether anyone wants the feature.

And it's here! So much love and effort went into this from many talented people. As the founding designer, I am excited for you all to meet the agent waiting for you on the Figma canvas. Try it out and let us know how we can make it even better!
$FIG just launched the Figma Design Agent, a dedicated agent that works alongside users in Figma.
The agent lives directly on the canvas, so you can prompt from any design layer, iterate and edit alongside the agent, and hand it boring tasks that would have otherwise taken up a lot of your time.
$FIG CEO @zoink came on the show today to discuss the launch. Here's our full conversation.

An agent that's fluent in Figma and purpose-built for design. On the canvas, where your team works and design context lives... rolling out in beta starting today!

@figma I am thrilled to have this feature finally available to Designers across the world: https://youtu.be/ZljQ6SYj8Rw I have been testing it in alpha and waiting for you all to see the brilliant tool and capabilities it brings. This is truly what designers need.

@figma the dream is alive

@tbpn The stock should be up a minimum of 75% because of this

@figma This is great for ideation.
The next step feels like embracing tools like Codex. Let agents with context of the real design system translate any coded system directly into Figma, React, Angular, Web Components, doesn't matter.
Reuse systems, don't recreate them.

@benhylak if you don't i don't trust your product

@figma Designers before and after this release 🔥

@figma Yesssss

@figma First “AI in design” drop in a while that doesn’t sound like a bolt-on. Does it actually respect components and variants, or just hallucinate pretty rectangles?

@zoink Now this is a feature I can fully stand by. Rather than compete with designers, The Figma AI Design Agent actually serves and assists us. Full walkthrough for Designers here: https://youtu.be/ZljQ6SYj8Rw.

@figma Figma credits need update if this is planned to be a daily used feature

@miketrilford @figma You can write directly to the canvas over MCP, but are you talking about more contextual knowledge stored in chats/conversations?
