Positive users celebrated SpaceX equity grants turning welders and technicians into millionaires as proof capitalism benefits all employees, while negative users dismissed the news with insults and fraud accusations.
May Europe one day wake up and start striving for this level of capitalistic homerun. Dump the degrowth nonsense, celebrate progress, and once again reach for the stars.
Elon Musk just created ~5,000 new millionaires, current and former $SPCX employees.
Of those ~5,000 people, roughly 400 of them will see stakes worth $100+ million.
JUST IN: 400 current & former SpaceX employees are poised to become worth over $100 million from the IPO.
“He's now teaching his three kids, including his 16-year-old daughter, how to invest based on what he learned owning SpaceX stock. His daughter is already a stakeholder in Meta and a handful of other companies.
If given the chance to talk to Musk, Hernandez said he'd thank him for helping him realize a dream he didn't know he had.
‘He made it a possibility for somebody like us, you know, the cook or … electrician. He's making all these lives much better and meaningful for their families as well."
Before Juan Hernandez became a welder at SpaceX, he had never heard of the company.
But just over 10 years later, that leap of faith is paying off following the company's $75 billion initial public offering. https://cbsn.ws/445TrCm
A man working as a welder at SpaceX for $28 an hour has just become a millionaire.
Juan Hernandez, who came from Mexico, welded rockets for SpaceX at $28 an hour.
SpaceX gave him $10,000 in stock when he went full time in 2015, and he bought more with every paycheck for 10 years.
$SPCX is now trading at $167, making his shares worth over $1 million.
This is pretty freaking cool

@Polymarket SpaceX cafeteria workers rn

@Polymarket Me and the SpaceX lunch lady
To infinity and...
Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire.
The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth.
We need a wealth tax.

@skscartoon Great

@Polymarket This is how legendary companies are built. Not just by making the founder rich. By letting the people who took the risk, worked insane hours, solved impossible engineering problems, and stayed through years of uncertainty share in the upside.

@Polymarket

@Polymarket If you think this is a "good reason" to defend capitalism, well, you're wrong.
Those are just 400 people. Four hundred, that's all.
I'd rather distribute one hundred million to at least 100,000 people, than put it in the hands of 400 hoarders.

Honestly, that’s closer to qualified than you’d think. Musk has said in multiple interviews that a degree isn’t required at his companies, evidence of ability and work ethic is.
The stories in this post back it up. Juan Hernandez walked in as an hourly welder who had never heard of SpaceX. No degree, no science background. Eleven years later he’s holding $880,000 in stock.
The filter at SpaceX was never credentials. It’s whether you show up and survive the pace. Sounds like you’d clear the first bar already.

@heyshrutimishra How many millionaires has @SenSanders created?
1… himself.

@Polymarket Don’t forget Elizabeth Warren wanted to stop the SpaceX IPO
socialism could never
NEW: Juan Hernandez, a welder who says he took “just another contract job” at SpaceX for $28/hr in 2015, is now a millionaire as shares soar.

@heyshrutimishra I would love to work for Elon. I don’t have a degree and I’m not a scientist. But I show up to work and I’m honest how about that?

@heyshrutimishra You mean about to liquidate 500million people 😂. Only dummies would think a greedy and selfish billionaire who supposedly has a revolutionary idea decides to share the potential wealth with the average person. 😂🤡. Why would he? Can’t he fund the entire thing? 🤷🏾♂️

@DeepBlueCrypto OMG!🤯
