LangSmith trajectories show an agent session as a chronological message path
LangChain says trajectories show each message once, in order, rather than the full execution tree captured in a session thread.
TLDR
LangChain says every run rolls into a trace, and traces from a session link into a thread with nested runs. A trajectory strips away that tree, leaving a human-readable view of the messages in the order the agent took them.
