Fruit fly neural map is claimed to play Overwatch at “masters level”

Google says its researchers worked with HHMI Janelia Research Campus and the scientific community to map an adult male fruit fly’s complete brain and central nervous system, using AI to reconstruct 166,000-plus neurons from millions of 2D images. Quoting that announcement, a user claims to have trained the MaleCNS v1.0 map’s 166,700 neurons to play Overwatch in a keyboard environment with attention-based aiming. They claim “masters level” play and say it found the most success on Mercy.
