    TLDR

Chris Maddison, Assistant Professor in Computer Science and Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto and Canada CIFAR AI Chair, replied to Nando de Freitas on X with "@NandoDF Well-said, Nando 👏👏👏👏👏". Nando de Freitas, VP of AI at Microsoft, responded with a heart emoji. Kevin Patrick Murphy of Google DeepMind quoted the thread, agreeing AI might aid clean energy but doubting it would "stop wars and famine" due to socio-political barriers.

@sirbayes+1. And while I agree AI may help find "better ways of producing clean energy", we still have to deploy such solutions. So I am not confident it will "stop wars and famine" (which are socio-political/ climate problems).
