    TLDR

Auren Hoffman posted that Apple stands in the strongest position to benefit from AI. He cited its hardware capabilities, user trust, and access to personal information as key assets. Hoffman added that open-source models would suit Apple particularly well. He contrasted the company with Google, noting Apple avoided heavy investment in proprietary models. @aurenApple is is the best poised to take advantage of AI. Open-source models would be absolutely amazing for Apple. Apple has incredible hardware and they have users' trust and they already have so much users' information. Apple's in a great position because it never made the investment in its own models, unlike Google (its main competitor). Apple can use the best open-source models that are out there and use models that are primarily using the compute on the devices, whether it be the phone, laptop, or Mac Mini (and even the devices at the edge like the Apple Watch and Airpods). It can encourage open-source models to really develop for the iPhone and for our own hardware. In fact a lot of the models are already doing that. We should expect great Apple personal assistants on your phone. we should expect it to be magical. yes, i know Apple has done it yet. but it will be existential if they do not figure it out -- and we know that apple can really innovate ... especially when things are existential. really exited for a new wave of Apple Intelligence ... but we likely will need to wait until Fall 2027 to really see it
